Acrylic Painting. Life Study.

I drew this girl at a studio in charcoal, she was sitting on a chair and leaning against the back, I then drew her on a rock and made up my own background.  Title -----"EVE" or "WATER BABE". the rock are built up with thickening medium before painting.

Oil Paintings.

"RED ROSE", this was using blue underpainting, and having to wait till paint was dry before adding another 5 layers of paint (each one thinner), Hard work but I did get the effect I was wanting.

Title --"MY ANGEL", when I was seriously ill I kept seeing this image, and when I still had her in my head I painted her.

Title ----"AUTUMN TIME" .  The White head "Sculpture" bottom right in pic, is a head I did of my Husband.

Acrilic Paintings.

This a large Painting done on Canvas board, " Title" ----"BLUEBELL WOODS", this is close to us.

Still Life in Black and Silver. Title == "DISCO TIME"

The "SUNFLOWERS" are done using an acryllic medium to thicken the paint and make the flowers stand out, and give texture.

Watercolours.

This was started on location, but it was so cold, I had to take a picture and finish at home. "TITLE" ---"ABERDEEN BREAKWATER"

This is A Scottish Casle ( I forget which one) using a wash off technique for reflections.

.Title  " Autumn`s Legacy", I did most of this out in the snow, it was callenging to get the right atmosphere.

This one of a Mountain Lion is `Titled` "HERE`S LOOKING AT YOU" 

 The Painting below was done on location in `Duthie Park` "Winter Gardens" Aberdeen.Title "Peace and Tranquility"

The painting below was a location study of Moorhens on nest and ducks attacking them !!!!!

The Still life here is entitled " POPPY`S AND FRUIT"

This study `Still Life` is entitled " SPANISH MEMORIES"

This face intruiged me, the eyes were amazing, I cut a small pic. out of the papers and did this quite large, not easy to do in watercolour as you have to keep wetting the whole face all the time.

The painting below was also a face that got to me it of a little Curdish Boy during the war there.. TITLE is " CANDLE OF HOPE"

This is  a study  TITLE ---"RARE SPECIES"

Below. This is Called "DRAGONFLY HABITAT", It was challenge to get the feeling right in this one. Below is  study of a Dragonfly, thia was done with A salt technique, (putting rock salt on the wet paint then removing when dry.

Silk Paintings.

The top Painting was done with 2 methods eg ouline and also using a special medium so I could paint the background.

The lefthand painting was done in a simalar way to the first. "TITLE" --- "FLORAL RAINBOW"

The right-hand bottom one is just a  "STUDY" of  "FLOWER AND BUTTERFLY"

Pen & Ink Work.

This was done over a period of time, as it took soooooo long. TITLE  is  "WHO`S THAT MUM"

this one is of "GOLDHILL, in Yorkshire. Again a lot of work.

Above is a multi mixed medium, even has real silk stuck on the bottom (cream) then paainted, I have used acrylic medium to get the glas effect.

below right is a collection of mixed medium work, "SHELLS", I did them and then made a collage with them, Below left is a mixed medium painting, using everything from watercolour to acrylic etc.

Soft Pastel Still Life. using inverted tecnique.

I have used BLACK  paper here and using red  soft pasel I have covered the background with red leaving the black areas !!!!!. The pic. makes the shade look big but it`s just the way the photo was taken.

Some "Art" work, Wood carving.

I made this and called it "TRANQULITY", I have done other pieces but have given then as presents, I still have this one, I carved it myself  (No lathe) just sharp tools and determination.  It is not flat, It is rounded.3D.

This "Painting"  called  "Oh what a Tangled Web" !!! , it is mixed medium , with dried plants etc, and it has silk painting under the collage, if you look closely you should see eyes at top ,middle. This was done on a large slab of wood, with the bark still on the left side, I had fun doing this one.

2 Watercolour Paintings of Bridge of Balgownie.

Top painting was done on location, bottom one from picture my husband took for me.
This is the bride that Robert Burns wrote about " The Bonnie Bonnie Brig O Balgownie", we live close to this.

Watercolour Painting, - Rainbow over Loch Awe, Scotland.

This was done on very rough paper.
